Illustration of issue

The title label, showing the artist and title of the current track, is rarely large enough to show all its contents (see attached screenshot). Instead ellipsis are shown.

One solution would be to add a splitter between between the label and the slider enabling the user to manually adjust the size of the field.

Another approach is to have this info in a separate row. There's typically plenty of real estate available.

I don't see lots of space available. Where would that be?

More space

Additional space for artist and track title info
Comment 3 Mads Ipsen 2016-08-04 08:18:05 UTC
I have attached a screen shot showing some potential place holders for a track and artist info label.

Also, in a typical use case (full screen), I guess you could sacrifice a bit of the space given to the slider, since the slider becomes very large in that case.

In addition, the track label currently appear to have a fixed size. Maybe an alternative size policy for the elements in this horizontal layout would make sense (forgive me if this is too Qt'ish lingo).

I think additional space is just gonna be shortening the time slider. I think the design mockups even show it not being that long.
