GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 748797
Gnome Boxes 3.16 can't grab USB multitouch touchscreen
Last modified: 2016-09-20 08:15:55 UTC
In Gnome-Boxes 3.16 I can't grab the Acer 27" Cooltouch touchscreen when I go to property/devices and switch on Cooltouch. When I switch it on it seems to try to grab it for a moment as I can't use the touch for about 15-30 seconds. After a failed attempt input goes back to the host Linux OS (Arch). This worked perfectly fine with 3.14 but now it just freezes the input and then kicks back to the host.
There was a bug in spice-gtk that combined with some recent Boxes changes, broke usb redirection support completely. The fix will be included in the next spice-gtk release. Please re-open this if it still doesn't work for you with next spice-gtk update. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 748665 ***
spice-gtk was updated here and problem/bug is still there. It won't grab the touchscreen.
(In reply to Drew from comment #2) > spice-gtk was updated here and problem/bug is still there. It won't grab > the touchscreen. The fix is not even in git master of spice-gtk yet so its unlikely you have an update that fixes the issue. You'll have to wait for the next release.
Also lets please continue further discussion about the issue on the open (duplicate) bug#748797.
(In reply to Zeeshan Ali (Khattak) from comment #4) > Also lets please continue further discussion about the issue on the open > (duplicate) bug#748797. Err.. I meant bug#748665 of course (and nm the 'open' part). Need more tea..
So am I waiting for spice-gtk-0.29? Because I 0.28 doesn't work.
(In reply to Drew from comment #6) > So am I waiting for spice-gtk-0.29? Because I 0.28 doesn't work. Yes. I'll nudge devs if they haven't released already.
