Description Russel Winder 2014-09-26 09:51:22 UTC
I recently switched to Adwaita dark theme with the arrival of GTK 3.14 on Debian Sid. Evolution 3.12.6 (which is what Debian Sid packages) seems to be entirely fine except for two things. The folder list continues to use black for the text which makes it unreadable – the current item is white on blue, others black on dark gray. Also the composer uses black for the user reply text which makes it unreadable. Thus Evolution is unusable with the Adwaita dark theme.

Let me know any other information you need and/or experiments I can run so as to get this fixed asap (Icedove is definitely third rate in comparison to Evolution, but I am having to put up with it until this Evolution problem is sorted.)

So is a wrong font used (as the summary says), or only a wrong font color?
Comment 2 Russel Winder 2014-09-26 12:23:46 UTC
My error, you are quite right, the correct typeface at the correct size is used, just the wrong colour. Apologies for the slight mislead. I will correct the title momentarily.

Just to note this "black on black" affects the contacts display as well.
Comment 4 Russel Winder 2014-09-27 18:36:18 UTC
Is there a "quick hack" I can apply to get white fonts used instead of black ones?

It appears that, as of 2014-10-16T19:24+01:00, I am getting white text instead of black. Evolution is usable again. :-)
