Description ByteEnable 2013-09-21 16:30:56 UTC
Gtk2 apps, especially Firefox, do not go dark when toggling the "Enable dark theme for all applications" using the tweak tool.

The work-around is to copy the "gtk-dark.css" to "gtk.css" in "/usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-3.0/". Then edit:

./.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini

[Settings]
gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme=false

Restart GNOME and all is well unless you want to turn off dark.

GTK2 doesn't support the gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme hint, so there's not much the theme can do in that case.
Comment 2 ByteEnable 2013-09-22 14:29:55 UTC
Strange that other GTK3 themes can theme Firefox but Adwaita can't. Prefer dark switches over to the gtk-dark.css when one selects dark option in tweak tool. I still say its broken. If you are trying to force apps to GTK3 thats fine and dandy but there is still a huge whole that leaves the desktop incomplete.

Work-around not working around in my case! And why is this bug "NOTABUG" and what is resolved about it???

Even the Logout window is not dark and that should be gtk3, shouldn't it?

Please fix this! It's annoying!

I have no idea what you're talking about.
