Description Sebastian Keller 2013-08-27 23:08:54 UTC
- have at least two tabs open
- start search in one tab
- switch to the other tab

The search bar disappears and tab bar with the tab you just clicked moves back to it's original position. It feels really weird to have the thing you just clicked on immediately jump away from the cursor.

In nautilus the search bar is part of the tab rather than a toolbar above the tab bar. Doing the same in epiphany would prevent this tab bar jumping issue. The search bar could even be kept open which also makes sense as well since switching tabs does not really indicate the intention of the user to close the search bar.

Another thing that would be useful would be to use a GtkRevealer for the search bar to smooth things out.

We probably need some well thought design on this.
