GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 704303
Sans Font is not the proper one
Last modified: 2014-01-12 23:53:23 UTC
Hello. The Sans Font in this version is an old aliased ugly one that does not correspond to the previous ones I use or to the Bold and Italic ones.
It's not a font per se, but an alias to a whole family of sans-serif fonts, of which the first one to be found is taken. This is handled by the configuration of the fontconfig library. The core issue is probably a duplicate of bug 688593.
Even though I am not sure what Bibelo means with an "old aliased ugly" font, I indeed think this is the same as bug 688593, which is itself for sure same as bug 708110. Bibelo, could you confirm the following fix your issue: Please edit: c:\Program Files\Gimp 2\etc\fonts\fonts.conf (or wherever else it is installed, but that's the default path) You'll find one configuration path in it, a long one, ending in conf.d. Delete all the path but the "conf.d" part, save the file, restart GIMP.
Let's assume it is a duplicate. Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 708110 ***
