Export settings are not being remembered by the program and the user has to load Saved settings every time. 

Somewhere I saw that this is a fixed bug but I encounter it on version 2.8.2 that I'm using.

See bug #675981 comment #2 - parts of what you're experiencing may be intentional, but in general this should work.

I see. It's true that the settings remain the same when I export an image previously edited but for fresh images/files, settings remain always the same, set from the program itself (and not those I left the last time I've used the program).
