Since Nautilus 3.6, the experience has been a little slow: falling-behind hovers, lagging resizes and slow loading of active/inactive style.

GNOME 3.6.1
Nautilus 3.6.1

There is an attached video.

Hey, Reda. There was some CSS performance optimization on gtk+ earlier this cycle. Can you test if this still happens in GNOME 3.7.91?

By the way, this may be related to bug 687164.
Comment 2 Reda Lazri 2013-03-10 16:53:48 UTC
I'll try to test in 3.7.91.

And yes, that's related to this one.
Comment 3 Reda Lazri 2013-03-10 18:02:32 UTC
Um, scratch that. I think I've broken my install for good. :(
Comment 4 Reda Lazri 2013-03-14 15:27:26 UTC
Okay, back again. Still slow. :)

(compared with Nemo with the same dirs).
Comment 5 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:17:53 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
