Created attachment 226683 [details] Files Since Nautilus 3.6, the experience has been a little slow: falling-behind hovers, lagging resizes and slow loading of active/inactive style. GNOME 3.6.1 Nautilus 3.6.1 There is an attached video.
Hey, Reda. There was some CSS performance optimization on gtk+ earlier this cycle. Can you test if this still happens in GNOME 3.7.91? By the way, this may be related to bug 687164.
I'll try to test in 3.7.91. And yes, that's related to this one.
Um, scratch that. I think I've broken my install for good. :(
Okay, back again. Still slow. :) (compared with Nemo with the same dirs).
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
