I have ubuntu 12.04 
orca Version: 3.4.0-0ubuntu2
nautilus  1:3.4.1-0ubuntu1

When I want to rename a file name in nautilus Orca does not read the  file name.
and   orca does not spell it and does not read single characters.

this is in the view mode of
icon view
compact view

1. Very likely a nautilus bug.
2. How is this different from bug 681644 which you also filed?
