Description freggy1 2011-11-12 16:21:33 UTC
To find an application, the user now has to go the upper left top of the screen to open the Activities menu. Then after choosing Applications, he has to move the mouse to the right side of the screen to select one of the applications category, after which he has to move back to the middle of the screen to select an application.

If the menu categories were on the left side, then the mouse movement needed to launch an application, would be reduced to going from the top left to the center of the screen, instead of going from left to right and back to the middle.

Thanks for the report. Please see what I said on bug 662738.

As for the search entry, you don't need to click on it at all, so its position doesn't really matter (and you forgot it in your summary!).
