Description:
Gnome hung on me, and I couldn't find a way to reboot my machine (I tired ctrl alt backspace to get out of X) other than cutting power.  After that there were a number of problems with my root filesystem.  I think I fixed most of them with fsck, but now every time I start Gnome "panel" crashes and I get a message saying Nautilus cannot create the file /home/[my user name]/.nautilus
