GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 640466
text selection highlighting is wrong if mouse is moved backwards
Last modified: 2011-01-25 08:09:48 UTC
Created attachment 179221 [details] sample PDF, see page 3 Please see page 3 of the attached PDF file, and look at the first paragraph (after "1. Xenon Flash Lamp"). If I select this paragraph text by clicking at the start of the paragraph, then dragging the mouse to the end and releasing the click, everything is OK - the paragraph is highlighted as expected. If I select this paragraph text by clicking at the END of the paragraph, then dragging the mouse to the start and releasing the click, some text to the right of the path of the cursor movement disappears. Something is wrong. I've attached a screenshot for both cases. - Mike
Created attachment 179222 [details] good screenshot, forward selecting
Created attachment 179223 [details] backward selection, problems Oddly, pressing the PrintScreen button refreshes the text and I can't use it to take a picture of the bad selection! So I've used a digital camera. Perhaps some sort of screen refresh is missing? - Mike
This happens with and without compiz, on a system with an Intel graphics chipset. - Mike
It's a known poppler issue that was fixed yesterday, see: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/commit/?id=5056e33e01ce0f7db1a5401b7b38d30e84eedf69 Thanks for reporting!
