Scrolling is slow on some AJAX powered sites like Google Reader

Issue: - Scrolling on some web pages is very slow and jerky - These pages are usually pages that make asynchonymous calls to the server for data - Google Reader is a perfect example of this issue Observed Behavior: - Log into Google Reader - Select a feed to view - Scroll through the feed paine on the right hand side of the screen - Observe jerky, slow, and choppy scrolling - Renders Ephipany unusable for this and other sites Desired Behavior: - Epiphany's scrolling performance to be equal to other major browser User Impact Statement: - Epiphany is my preffered browser due to it's rendering speed and integration into the GNOME desktop - Google Reader is my preffered method for reading on the web - I am unable to use Epiphany as my main browser due to this issue Environments Tested and Issue Observed On: - Various versions of Epiphany from 2.29 on - Fedora 12 - Fedora 13 - Ubuntu 9.10 - Ubuntu 10.04 - Intel CoreSolo 1.33GHz / 2GB RAM - Intel Quad Core Xeon 2.66GHz / 8GB RAM - Intel Atom 1.66GHz / 2GB RAM
This looks like a duplicate of Bug #609237
I don't think it's the same issue. Slashdot is quite speedy for me.
There may be a relation to Bug #609237 but Google Reader is far more extreme. I was able to open Slashdot and read it fine. It was a bit slow on load but after that it worked fine. Google Reader is, on the other hand, not usable on any system I've tested. Thanks for looking at this!
Per Bug #609237, https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39582 may be the source of this. There's a patch there for this issue, that for at least one user seems to have addressed the issue. Let's see if that helps here.
