GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 608211
Epiphany should always open links in new tabs
Last modified: 2010-01-27 12:46:24 UTC
I find it pretty inconvinient that epiphany often opens links in new windows. After some time you have serveral windows open instead of one with multiple tabs. Please either make it the default behaviour to open links in a new tab or add an option in the preference menu (like firefox does).
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. You can set the gconf key /apps/epiphany/general/open_new_window_in_tab *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 571593 ***
Oh i just found that option. Anyhow i think there should be a way in the preferences to set that. A normal user won't be able to crawl through gconf-editor

And Firefox and IE have tabs for years (at least Firefox).
