Description brunogirin 2009-12-25 23:15:03 UTC
In compact view, when the "All columns have the same width" option is disabled, if a directory contains files with very short and very long name, clicking on a short name file scrolls the window right and prevents double-click.

See the original bug report on Ubuntu Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/479974

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a directory and open it
2. Change directory view to compact view
3. Go to Edit -> Preferences and disable the "All columns have the same width" option
4. Create a first directory with a very short name (1 or 2 letters)
5. Create a second directory with name long enough to force scrollbars to appear
6. Click on the directory with the short name

Expected behaviour
- The directory with the short name is selected and visible in the window

Actual behaviour
- The view scrolls right and the directory with the short name (that has just been selected) is no longer visible and cannot be double-clicked
