GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 604703
can´t find start button and Help on Windows XP
Last modified: 2009-12-22 15:54:20 UTC
After standard installation (MSI) I can´t find a start button in my menu. Starting evince.exe -> klick to Help -> Contents the following error message appears: There was an error displaying help Error stating file 'C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\hl\ghelp:evince': No such file or directory
Thank you for reporting the issues you have with Evince! First of all, if you have more then one issue to report, please use separate bug reports. That will make life easier for developers. Now, a response to your issues: 1. No Evince menu entry in Start Menu. This is an issue with the packaging of Evince in the msi file. I have fixed this in my semi-official build of the package. The next release will have the menu entry. 2. Error displaying help. The help functionality is not yet ported to Windows. I will attach a patch to gray-out the help menu entry on Windows, as it is not available. Of course, graying out is not a fix, so I will also register a feature enhancement request to port the help functionality to Windows.

Review of attachment 150222 [details] [review]: Applied to git master. I'm leaving the bug open because help is still not supported in windows.
