Can you provide good reasons why they are needed? And can you please provide english pictures?
Hi, sorry for french pictures... This is my suggestion for light user-friendly menus with GNOME... As you see, I found that it was faster and more user-friendly with these enhancements: ---- MEDIAS: provide a menu for medias applications (burners, ISO-related, floppy, etc) ---- PREFERENCES: Commons options and settings SESSIONS: All settings related to users HARDWARE: All settings related to computer hardware NETWORK: All settings related to network(s) and Internet SUPPORT: LINUX Distribution infos, help and support. System-updates, etc. ----

Probably something that should be discussed first on the usability mailing list.
This post have been moved to BUG #592208 -gnome-menus -UNCO -Usability of GNOME menus !!!!
There is no reason to file duplicates. Please do not do this. (And please fix your keyboard, looks like you press the exclamation mark once but four ones were printed...)

Rather obsolete than incomplete, as GNOME 3 does not use such a menu structure anymore.
