GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 582730
Bookmars are not persisted
Last modified: 2009-05-15 08:30:59 UTC
Please describe the problem: I saved a bookmark and exited the application. When I re-started the application, the bookmark was gone. The bookmark was to a NTFS/Windows folder, in a side-by-side installation of Ubuntu (Jaunty Jackalope), and Windows XP Home. Steps to reproduce: 1. Mount a Windows disk (usually Media). 2. Under Gnome Commander, create a bookmark to a folder in it. 3. Open Bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks, make sure it's still there. 4. Exit Gnome Commander. DO NOT DISMOUNT THE 'MEDIA' DRIVE. 5. Start Gnome Commander, Open Bookmarks / Manage Bookmarks 6. It's gone. Actual results: The bookmarks can be used during ONE session of Gnome Commander, but they disappear after exiting the application. Expected results: The bookmarks should still be there. They may be hidden or disabled if their target is not available (removable media, network folders). Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Gnome Commander 1.2.7 Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope under NTFS, installed in dual boot with Windows XP Home.
