GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 575559
When laptop lid is closed, should not go to sleep if an external monitor is connected
Last modified: 2012-03-23 09:45:25 UTC
I hooked up an external monitor to my laptop and then closed the lid. The laptop then locked the screen. I would like an option to tell gnome-power-manager not to blank/suspend/hibernate when the lid is closed if there is an external display connected.
Can't you just change "When laptop lid closed on AC" = do nothing?
This would be a nice feature for gnome-power-manager. Because, if the Laptop is on Battery, and using an external monitor or beamer, it is really annoying to deactivate the suspend-function every time.
Sam, Fussel, please reopen this bug if the configuration suggested in comment #1 does not work. Thanks in advance!
The configuration in comment 1 does not do what I want. I *do* want the screen to be locked if I close the lid, but *not* if there is an external monitor connected.
