Ops. Inverse attachment went to wrong place. Correct bug for inverse version is in Bug #564635.

Don't care about INVERSE, it was just for yet reported bugs. The long term plan is automatically create SVG inverse icon at compile/install time, just swapping black and white.

About the icon itself... to be honest, dunno, of course this the the usual webcam shape, but it's too rounded and too black. I suppose that applying the filter suggested here[1] you have a gray disc :-/

Could you try to reduce the black areas, and maybe to distinguish the camera "head" from the base?

[2] While this guide is dated 2003, it's still valid: the only incorrect stuff are the size of the canvas (48x48 pixels, not points) and the border sizes (4 pixel for extern borders, 3 for inner borders and other details)

Comment 8 Jeremy Bicha 2012-11-23 02:30:35 UTC
There already is a devices/camera-web.png icon in gnome-themes-standard HighContrast. It looks more like a video camera than the traditional standalone webcam though.

gnome-themes is not under active development anymore since 2011.
As written in https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gnome-themes/commit/4df81cf0a7fd8d3da6591c4c142f47dfd7778d5f , it is obsolete.

Its codebase has been archived:

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
