Description matteo.brusa 2008-07-29 21:18:35 UTC
The Junk folder should be configurable. My mail server has its own spam folder, which it uses to train spamassassin.
Furthermore, it's pointless to have a local inbox, since i specified my imap account.

Distribution: Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy)
Gnome Release: 2.22.2 2008-06-03 (Ubuntu)
BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0

Many providers have space limitations on their servers and so would delete the data older than specific period. So local Inbox and other folders created under On This Computer would be useful to copy from your server and store the old but necessary data.

As far as Junk folder, can you be specific of what needs to be configurable. There is a tab for Junk Settings in Edit->Preferences->Mail Preferences. There is also a option of selecting Spamassasin or Bogofilter plugins for Junk filtering.

I do not see any thing wrong in the behavior. So can we close the bug unless you have any issue still specific?
Comment 2 matteo.brusa 2008-07-30 08:08:08 UTC
I'd like to tell Evolution where my Junk folder resides in the IMAP tree.
I already have a folder "Spam" under "Inbox" which is meant to receive Junk: the spam filter on the mail server needs Spam to be there, in order to learn.

Thanks!
