Description Michael Monreal 2008-06-02 08:43:39 UTC
The dialog for folder properties is more than 600px tall (even without window deco) because it has the folder permissions table in addition to the file permissions table.

IMHO many people still use 800x600 resolution and having a basic dialog like this not fit on screen is bad. Myself I don't use this resolution on my desktop, but I often use it for VNC sessions and sometimes VMs.

A valid use case -- taken from the dupe -- is MeeGo. The properties dialog is definitely too big...

Confirming on 2.91 as well.

Another use case is Gnome 3 (standard configuration/theme) on a 1024x600 screen. Gnome 3 has a bit larger fonts/widgets which probably make this more of an issue.

We should fix in this just fine now.
