Last modified: 2008-06-16 22:47:28 UTC
Dear Help Even if the "Always carbon-copy (cc) to:" or the "Always blind carbon-copy (bcc) to: in the "Account Editor" window are checked, nothing appears in the new messages (this feacture was working until last release). regards Carmelo Distribution: Debian lenny/sid Gnome Release: 2.22.0 2008-03-14 (Debian) BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0
what does "nothing appears" mean? where did you check, editor or sent? were the fields displayed at all?
(In reply to comment #1) > what does "nothing appears" mean? where did you check, editor or sent? were the > fields displayed at all? > I get used to sending all my messages with my address in the bcc field. In order to get it automatically I checked the flag "Always blind carbon-copy (bcc) to:" (with my address) under Edit->Prefereces(Shift+Ctrl+S)->Mail Accounts->Account Editor->Defaults. Until last Friday all was working fine. This morning I installed the last version of evolution (released by debian sid) and now every time I open a new message (File->New->Mail Message Ctrl+N) the bcc field is empty. I send you the version of all evolution packages installed on my systems: #:~$ dpkg -l | grep evolution ii evolution 2.22.0-3 groupware suite with mail client and organizer ii evolution-common 2.22.0-3 architecture independent files for Evolution ii evolution-data-server 2.22.0-2 evolution database backend server ii evolution-data-server-common 2.22.0-2 architecture independent files for Evolution Data Server ii evolution-exchange 2.22.0.dfsg-1 Exchange plugin for the Evolution groupware suite ii evolution-plugins 2.22.0-3 standard plugins for Evolution ii evolution-webcal 2.21.92-1 webcal: URL handler for GNOME and Evolution ii libebook1.2-5 1.6.3-5etch1 Client library for evolution address books ii libebook1.2-9 2.22.0-2 Client library for evolution address books ii libecal1.2-6 1.6.3-5etch1 Client library for evolution calendars ii libecal1.2-7 2.22.0-2 Client library for evolution calendars ii libedata-book1.2-2 2.22.0-2 Backend library for evolution address books ii libedata-cal1.2-5 1.6.3-5etch1 Backend library for evolution calendars ii libedata-cal1.2-6 2.22.0-2 Backend library for evolution calendars ii libedataserver1.2-7 1.6.3-5etch1 Utility library for evolution data servers ii libedataserver1.2-9 2.22.0-2 Utility library for evolution data servers ii libedataserverui1.2-6 1.6.3-5etch1 GUI utility library for evolution data servers ii libedataserverui1.2-8 2.22.0-2 GUI utility library for evolution data servers ii libexchange-storage1.2-1 1.6.3-5etch1 Backend library for evolution calendars ii libexchange-storage1.2-3 2.22.0-2 Backend library for evolution calendars ii openoffice.org-evolution 1:2.4.0-3 Evolution Addressbook support for OpenOffice.org Please let me know if you need more information. I have the same problem with Fedora 9 and Ubuntu 8.04. The interesting thing is that if you have several identities, you can choose another identity from the "From:" pull down box, and then select your default identity again and then the BCC field gets populated properly. I'd also like to note that this is a real problem for me as I got used to getting my replies filed to the proper folder and without bcc I have to go to the sent folder after every email, get my email and file it properly - which is quite tedious and I often forget to do that and lose the mail.
