Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

please isntlal the gkt+ and glib packages

from duplicate bug 416476 (which has at least debug symbols for nautilus:

To reproduce the crash use the file "dynamicRules.odp"

  1. Right click on the file
  2. Select "Properties" from the popup menu
  3. Nautilus hangs

(tested on two GNOME 2.16 installs, on ubuntu edgy/Gnome nautilus 2.16.1)
Note that the files opens correctly in Openoffice/Staroffice.

hmm, i can't crash it here on 2.17.92 with amos' example file. needinfo state again. :-(

Amos: If this crash is reproducible on your Ubuntu system, could you please install some debugging packages [1], and try to reproduce the crash, if possible?

Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the 'Details', now containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a comment here to bug 375635. Thanks in advance!

[1] Please install the following debug packages provided by Ubuntu: nautilus-dbg (probably already installed), libglib2.0-0-dbg, and libgtk2.0-0-dbg.

More details can be found here: http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces
