What were you doing when the application crashed? The sistem was configured to use SIS integrated VGA and NIS server, and it was booted with an ATI Radeon 8500 Pinnacle Edition VGA card while the NIS server was shut down. It took 3 or 4 times longer to boot and gave Gnome and HAL errors.
