GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 356245
associate contacts with mail accounts
Last modified: 2013-10-08 11:34:03 UTC
It would be great, if one could link certain contacts to certain mail accounts. So if you compose a mail for someone from your addressbook, Evolution could automatically choose the right mail account to send it from (and not the default account).
this sounds pretty much like a duplicate of bug 200601 to me, what do you think?
well, in a way. but 200601 describes the problem of associating an account (identity) with a certain addressbook in this case it's somehow the other way around - you want to associate a certain contact to an identity e.g.: if I click the "To:" button and choose "Andre Klapper", evolution shall automatically pick the identity "mathiasmoser@aon.at" in the Compose-Dialog and not the one that is marked >default< in the preferences menu. Hope I could make myself clear?

I added related functionality within a fix for bug #215115, thus I mark this as a duplicate of it. The advantage over "set account on the contact" is that the recipient matching will work even when you do not compose a message with a contact from an addressbook. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 215115 ***
