This is really a problem with Outlook Web Access. Microsoft's take on it can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;320240

Evolution doesn't deal with it well when moving messages from the Exchange server to a local folder. If, for example, your quota on the server has been exceeded and you need to move a few months worth of messages to a local folder, the move process will die when a message containing a percent sign in the subject is encountered.

seems to be a connector/evolution exchange bug.
Comment 3 Sushma Rai 2006-04-04 09:51:34 UTC
We need to look at both % and & signs.
Comment 4 Sankar P 2006-05-09 10:21:12 UTC
We need to look at % & .. / \ : ./ and so many other characters. I am sure some more duplicates of this bug exists.
