Last modified: 2008-05-08 11:44:28 UTC
1. Open the url foobar: 2. A dialog appears, stating: Actual: 3. "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (foobar) isn't associated with any program." Expected: 3. "Epiphany may be the best browser, but it failed to open your stupid foobar address"

Ubuntu bug about that: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/epiphany-browser/+bug/39033 "f you mistype (the protocol part of) an address in Epiphany (for example ttp:// instead of http:// you get an ethe following dialog: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (ttp) isn't associated with any program." This occurs on dapper with epiphany-browser: 2.14.0-0ubuntu3 I didn't check other versions. If you need any more information please ask."

Maybe this can be a gnome-love bug, sounds easy... but of course the last word is from the guys that really know mozilla interaction, ideas?
It's not easy, no. We'd need to provide a string bundle for this, and i18n that with gettext/intltool... The right way to solve this is to work on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=228207

I can't reproduce this bug using epiphany-gecko_2.22.1.1-0ubuntu1 the dialogue just says "foobar is not a registered protocol"
Can't reproduce either, with xulrunner-1.9-0.60.beta5.fc9.x86_64
Wouter, can this be marked OBSOLETE?
Guess so.
