Description David (djst) Tenser 2006-01-03 21:28:38 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If you use the "Solid color" background on a panel with the Gnome menu or the
fast-user-switch-applet, the background of those applets are now completely
black. This is a regression, as Ubuntu Breezy (Gnome 2.10.x?) doesn't have this
problem.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use the Clearlooks or Human theme (in Ubuntu Dapper)
2. Change the background of the top panel to use "Solid color"
3. Lower the transparency slider to something more transparent

Actual results:
The background of the Gnome main menu is now completely black.

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

I thought it was fixed with the update of today's packages? Can you verify you have the latest gtk-engines package?
Comment 2 David (djst) Tenser 2006-01-03 22:30:43 UTC
Just did an apt-get update && apt-get dist-ugprade and the latest version is (and was) gtk2-engines-clearlooks version 1:2.7.2-0ubuntu1.
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2006-01-04 07:10:07 UTC
cc'ing Thomas. Is this a gtk-engines issues?
Comment 4 Sebastien Bacher 2006-01-04 08:57:12 UTC
have you restarted gnome-panel after the upgrade?
Comment 5 David (djst) Tenser 2006-01-04 10:11:29 UTC
Appearantly, it only affects the background of the fast-user-switch-applet, not the Gnome main menu.
Comment 6 Crispin Flowerday (not receiving bugmail) 2006-01-04 10:36:58 UTC
Isn't this bug 319815 ?
Comment 7 David (djst) Tenser 2006-01-04 11:35:53 UTC
Crispin, the original bug reported both Gnome main menu and fast-user-switch-applet, but it has now changed product to Fast User Switch Applet and is hence not a dupe.
Comment 8 Crispin Flowerday (not receiving bugmail) 2006-01-04 11:41:09 UTC
David, yes, and bug 319815 claims that the main menu is working fine now, but there other problems, but thos will really know whether it is a dup
Comment 9 Thomas Wood 2006-01-04 12:16:09 UTC
Yes, this is the same issue. There is a patch in bug 325430 which should resolve the problem.

I've opened a new bug to track all the related issues.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 325760 ***
Comment 10 David (djst) Tenser 2006-01-04 14:37:18 UTC
Then bug 325713 is also a dupe of 325760.
