Last modified: 2005-09-20 18:16:22 UTC
Please describe the problem: There is no longer a method available to overide the default forward behavior. Once set to "as attachment", there is no way to forward an email in-line or as quoted without changing the default setting. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
you're right, and i currently cannot remember why it was removed.
ah, now i know: this just is not a bug. "forward as attachment" is the RFC-recommended way to forward the entire message including attachments, this is a duplicate of bug 262601. sorry. :-/ *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 262601 ***
The RFC recommendation is irrelevant to business users. In-line/quoted forwarding is often very useful if not imperative. eg: I received the following information from the attorney handling the foobar matter: quoted envelope ................... ................... >quoted text >quoted text Comment >quoted text >quoted text Comment Furthermore, I often do not want to forward something in its entirety, While this can be done with cut and paste, it is far more laborious. Others in the Usenet forum have begun using reply and then changing the sendto address. However, that method does not provide the full envelope without cut and paste. The point is that there is no reason to eliminate a feature that is very useful particularly since it was in prior versions of Evolution.
