Description Marc E. 2005-08-09 03:57:59 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When you open the dekstop's Trash icon's property page, you'll see the usual,
and an icon on the top left. If you drag an icon to the default trash icon, it
changes it, but there is no way of removing the new icon and going back to the
default theme. You can drag something over it, yes, but it won't display the
usual trash empty/full icons.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click on trash icon, then Properties
2. Drag an icon to the icon holder on the top left.

Good catch! Thanks for your bug report.
Comment 2 Christian Neumair 2005-08-10 08:13:43 UTC
Oh, and for resetting the icon you'll either have to remove

~/.nautilus/metafiles/x-nautilus-desktop\:%2F%2F%2F.xml

or remove the custom_icon property from the <file name="trash" .../> tag in this
file.

Thanks a lot, I could not have figured out that without your tip. I hope this
gets fixed. Also, I do not know if this might affect other Property pages.

Marc: No it doesn't. The extra widgets for (re)setting the custom icons will
only be displayed for single-file selections that don't contain the trash. The
attached patch takes care that in this case one can't set a custom image through
DnD.

Doesn't matter really. It's committed. If you're interested in details, see [1].
