GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 234630
Filters are not allways applied when e-mails arrive on IMAP accounts
Last modified: 2005-11-15 02:22:21 UTC
Description: Description of Problem: Not all messages are filtered at arrival in my INBOX, this is very annoying since I get about 300-500 e-mail's every day. I have configured filters for moving messages and I also enabled the option that Filters should be applied at arrival, but most e-mail's are not filtered therefore littering my inbox. I think e-mail's should be filtered directly at arrival before displaying the e-mail. I solve the problem currently by constantly selecting the e-mail's and then apply filters. I think Evolution is far better then Outlook and love it, that's why I take the time to complain ;-) Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Configure IMAP e-mail account and activate apply filters on arrival feature. 2. Apply to a bussy e-mail list ;-) 3. Create a filter that move the e-mail's to another folder 4. Keep Evolution open within the inbox and you'll notice that the filter's are rarely applied to email's. Actual Results: E-mail's that should be moved are visible in inbox, they should never be in this folder. Expected Results: E-mail's should be moved to destination folder on arrival according to the filter. How often does this happen? Allways it's been consistent thruu the versions, you probably don't consider it as a bug but rather by design. I would point out that it's illogicall design if so. Additional Information: Evolution is a great product, keep up the good work! Regards Michael
