GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 234539
Folder ordering should not always be lexicographical
Last modified: 2006-02-06 16:25:09 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Cosmetic Version: 1.2.0 Synopsis: Folder ordering should not always be lexicographical Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Description: Description of Problem: The INBOX folder is ordered lexicographically with all the other folders. In a large folder set this makes it difficult to locate rapidly. Although there is the alternative of using the Shortcut bar, this takes up screen real-estate and is unattractive for those who only (or mainly) use Evo for mail. Alternatives (in order of desirability): 1) Allow the user to order the folders according to taste, not just lexically. 2) Allow folders to be colour-coded 3) Set certain folders apart at the top of the list e.g. INBOX, Sent, Drafts as happens with a number of other mailers. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: Expected Results: How often does this happen? Additional Information: Unknown reporter: poc@usb.ve, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com. Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.

INBOX is top most always, using recent versions. At least this part is fixed already.
Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. :) Actually a feature request for user defined manual ordering of mail folders rather than alphabetically already is filed. This is a duplicate ob bug 202257. Please feel free to report any further issue you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 202257 ***
