Description kalahan 2001-12-01 16:35:09 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Major
Version: 0.99.2
Synopsis: Filling data with non-us charset problem
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook]

Description:
OK, so this is what I do

1. Open Evolution and go straight into "Contacts"
2. Double click on any entry to edit it's contents
3. Where "File as:" change it and use a non-us char.

I did something like this, my contact was Monica Diaz G
and where "File as:" I saw Monica G. So I try to change
it to Monica Diaz, since in Spain our first surname is in the
second place (because we use two surnames). But.. wait
a minuet! Diaz has a tilde on it! OK, let's fix it for "Díaz"
(you should use the latin-1 charcode set to see it).

4. Where "Organization:" write something, like UGS

Wow! Now I got those weird chars in the "File as:" field, one after each
letter. How did they get there???? How come it happens when I write in a
different field???

I found it after fixing my software engineering teacher's name just the
day I took a test on validation of algorithmics.

PS: I used an Spanish keyboard, and of course, with the Spanish layout.
