Description Gordon Staines 2001-10-04 07:25:46 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Wishlist
Version: 0.14
Synopsis: Auto Decode Winmail.dat attachments
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Miscellaneous

Description:
I know that this is a problem with MS products, but people keep on
sending me stuff that with winmail.dat attachments. And I would like to
be able to read them. without a manual process.

I have worked out that Outlook Pro 2000 will automatically stuff an
ordinary attachment into a winmail.dat attachment if the author is using
HTML as the default message format in outlook.

Outlook 2000 will also do this when sending calender appointments.

Personally compatability with my work colleges some of which arnt of the
intellect to use linux, nor should they be allowed to. Eg Marketing
Managers. Is the number one selection criteria for choosing a groupware
product like evolution.

Cheers

Gordon Staines
