Steps to reproduce:
1. Select few contacts (by ctrl-clicking each one's header).
2. Right-click any of them, and select an operation such as 'Send message 
to contact' or 'Print'.

Expected result (I might be wrong on this one): Send message to all of 
the selected recepients, Print a page with all of the selected contacts 
etc.
Actual result: Operation only applies to the contact I clicked on to 
bring the context menu.

hmm,

if i use "print" from the context menu, it prints only the contact
which had the mouse (and not all selected ones).
if i use the "print"button in the menubar, it prints all my contacts,
but the tooltip says: "print selected contacts". does it mean the
category "contacts"?

i marked three contacts and clicked on the first one - sending an
email works fine to all of them, and using printing from the
right-click menu to a pdf also shows all three contacts in the print
preview and also in the pdf file. if i go to "print" from the main
menu bar, the print preview shows *all* contacts in the address book.
it also shows in print preview / prints *all* contacts if i just want
to print the selection. using
evolution1.5-1.5.8.0.200405281008-0.snap.ximian.8.1,
libgnomeprintui-2.4.2-100.SuSE.ulb.1, libgnomeprint-2.4.2-100.SuSE.ulb.1.

at least "Print a page with all of the selected contacts" works when using the
context menu, *all* marked contacts are printed now.
sending an email does not exist anymore in 2.4.0.


comment #3 is still valid in 2.4.0, though. selection should be used as in
context menu, and not the entire address book should be printed, as the tolltip
says!! setting target milestone.
