GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 158037
Menu editing section out of date
Last modified: 2006-02-27 04:14:40 UTC
In GNOME 2.9 we have a new menu system that conforms to the Desktop Menu Specification at: http://www.freedesktop.org/Standards/menu-spec So, menustructure.xml is pretty much completely out of date. The applications:/// URI doesn't exist anymore so you can't do editing using Nautilus. Right now, the only option for sysadmins is to edit the .menu files directly. Hopefully we'll have a graphical tool for doing that, but in the mean time it may be worthwhile documenting how to do it by hand.
