Description Keith Lea 2004-09-11 18:25:44 UTC
I have a remote connection on my desktop that I created using "Connect To
Server...". When I drag it to the trash, a dialog appears that says:

"You cannot delete a volume icon.

If you want to eject the volume, please use Eject in the right-click menu of the
volume."

This is unnecessary and unintuitive. I think that if a user drags such a
connection to the Trash, he or she obviously wants to remove it from his or her
desktop.
Comment 1 Dennis Cranston 2004-10-02 07:07:55 UTC
There is a proposed patch in bug 154283 that should resolve this issue.
Comment 2 Keith Lea 2004-10-02 17:10:49 UTC
I think this bug is a duplicate of bug 154283, or rather, it is a dupe of this
since mine came first. :)

Comment 4 Dennis Cranston 2004-10-05 15:18:22 UTC
No. This bug is not resolved. The dialog is wrong because there is no 'Eject'
menu.
Comment 5 Matthew Gatto 2004-10-19 20:15:19 UTC
dennis_cranston@yahoo.com: there is already bug 152391 for the Eject/Unmount
distinction needed in the error message. Could you rework your patch to fix that
bug?

Comment 7 Luis Villa 2005-01-03 00:22:20 UTC
Dennis, should this patch be moved to another bug? I'm trying to follow the web
of dups/deps/etc. here, but I'm afraid I can't make much sense of the situation.
Comment 8 Dennis Cranston 2005-01-03 00:29:18 UTC
Luis, Moving the patch seems reasonable. I attached it to bug 152391. Thanks.
