Description Frances Keenan 2004-03-25 10:52:48 UTC
Using GOK from CVS HEAD 23rd March 2004

-launch GOK
-launch gpdf (application -> graphics -> PDF Viewer)
-activate gpdf application and bring up its context menu (alt+space)
-GOK does not UI this menu

The UI Grab feature on GOK works brings up the context menu for
several other applications:
e.g. gnome-terminal, gedit, gcalctool.

Strange that it's not working for just this application.
Comment 1 David Bolter 2004-03-29 20:17:01 UTC
What is the at-poke gpdf situation?
Comment 2 Frances Keenan 2004-03-30 13:22:40 UTC
at-poke doesn't show any sign of the context menu being selected.
Comment 3 padraig.obriain 2004-03-30 15:17:16 UTC
David,

How does gok recognize that the context menu has popped up and its items need to
be listed?
Comment 4 bill.haneman 2004-03-31 13:56:20 UTC
Frances/All:

gok does see and react to the alt-spacebar menu on my gpdf (Gnome gpdf 0.130).
By the way, this isn't what we usually call a "context menu", that had me
confused for awhile - the menu you are referring to is the "window menu" or the
"metacity menu".

So this is working for me... can you report the gpdf version? (gpdf --version)
Comment 5 Frances Keenan 2004-03-31 16:28:15 UTC
I was able to reproduce this a few times and showed it to Padraig.
gpdf --version
Gnome gpdf 1.125
Comment 6 padraig.obriain 2004-04-02 08:55:22 UTC
This is strange. I am using gpdf version 0.125 on a Solaris box and it is
working correctly for me.
Comment 7 David Bolter 2004-05-17 19:54:05 UTC
This menu is posted by the window manager correct?
Frances, are you using a fairly recent Metacity?
Comment 8 padraig.obriain 2004-05-18 08:11:38 UTC
The menu is posted by the window manager.

I am not sure what version of metacity Frances was using when the bug was
reported but she is now using version 2.8.0. The gpdf version is 0.131.
Comment 9 David Bolter 2004-06-29 13:56:28 UTC
Frances, I have gpdf 2.7.2 (fresh from cvs) and Metacity from cvs head. This
bug is not presenting for me. Can you confirm that it has resolved?
Comment 10 Frances Keenan 2004-07-05 09:12:37 UTC
David, I've just tried this on JDS Release_3 Build_13 Linux and its still present.
This is gpdf version 0.131

I haven't tried it on the latest CVS head build yet, as there have been some
problems with the build failing in the past week.
Comment 11 David Bolter 2004-07-05 12:59:35 UTC
Frances, is that the version reported when you do a gpdf --version ?
