GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 137097
Moving window between desktops via keybinding "silent"
Last modified: 2020-11-06 20:09:02 UTC
Package: metacity Version: 1:2.6.5-1 Severity: normal Tags: sid When changing which desktop you are viewing, an on-screen indicator of which desktop you are on appears. When moving a window between desktops, no on-screen indicator appears though it seems even more important in this situation. For example, moving a maximized window between desktops will obscure the rest of the desktop so you can't be certain which one you are on.

I had a hard time finding this bug; to make it easier to find in searches, I'm adding Sven's description of the problem which has the words I'm more likely to use in search (workspace and preview): "When I move windows between workspaces it would be useful to have the same preview as when switching workspaces."
