Description of Problem:
With my new Gnome 2.2 system I saw that the battery applet drained
battery, it uses about 5-10% cpu (average).

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Add a gnome battery applet to a panel
2. Open a program to view cpu-usage (or wait about an hour until your
battery gets drained)

Actual Results:
Gnome Battery Applet is rendered unusable, battery gets drained very
fast.

Expected Results:
Obivious :-)

How often does this happen?
At all times when I start battery-applet

Additional Information:
Recompiled Gnome did not solve the problem. 

Computer info:
Gentoo Linux (from stage 1)
Dell Inspirion 8500
P4M, NVIDIA GPU
