Description Bugtraq+/Bugzilla Gateway 2002-11-25 13:44:19 UTC
Package: nautilus
Product: nautilus
Component: Desktop
Synopsis: [Solaris Multihead] multiple persistent and visible volume mount points at the
Severity: normal
Priority: Urgent
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: Desktop
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0

Use a Gnome desktop.
Insert a CD-ROM (e. g. Solaris 9 installation CD)
in your CD-ROM drive, eject CD-ROM and repeat
this procedure a few times (also with other CD's).

A lot of persistent CD-ROM symbols will populate your gnome desktop.
If you eject a CD-ROM the symbols should disappear, but they don't.

This still happens in Beta 3 and fcs_03 builds on SunOS puncher 5.9 s81_54 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10

This problem seems to be limited to multihead setups.

Stephen, Mark, In multi-head machines fm_desktop_icon_view_init is
called twice and hence the callback for the VOLUME_MOUNTED signal is
attached twice. Because of this whenever a removable media is inserted
we are getting 2 icons though the signal is emitted only once. Can you
please give me pointers to proceed with this problem. Thanks.

This is not needed anymore with the new way the desktop is handled.
