GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 99057
Italics tag rendered on bias if italics font is not available
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I use Comic Sans MS font for all sans fonts but it only comes in regular an d bold flavors. In galeon 1.3.0, text that should be printed in italics are printed on a ~30 deg bias, running up left to right. Apparently, italics were ignored if not available in earlier galeon versions. For example: Page: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?product=galeon&version=1.3.0&op_sys=Linux&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=REOPENED&bug_status=RESOLVED&email1=&emailtype1=substring&emailassigned_to1=1&email2=&emailtype2=substring&emailreporter2=1&changedin=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&short_desc=&short_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&long_desc_type=substring&bug_file_loc=&bug_file_loc_type=substring&status_whiteboard=&status_whiteboard_type=substring&keywords=&keywords_type=anywords&op_sys_details=&op_sys_details_type=substring&version_details=&version_details_type=substring&cmdtype=doit&newqueryname=&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&form_name=query source:
Tue Nov 19 18:49:33 EST 2002
Think. It only offers a warning at the moment, but without these installed, it will not build the libglade-convert script.

Earlier versions of GARNOME used Havoc Pennington's metacity (metacity printed at 30 deg) (which is pronounced like opacity, according to Havoc) window manager by default, but for the moment, it's just built as part of the gnome-desktop meta garball. You can change to it within your GNOME 2.0 session like this:

If this is really a bug its in mozilla
