Description Tommi Komulainen 2002-10-23 18:04:57 UTC
The download dialog doesn't display completed downloads particularly well.
For example, the title still says 'Downloading' and the download details
still look active even though they aren't.

There should be more clear indication for completed downloads. Maybe make
the progress bar insensitive or something, or remove the time remaining as
it has no use after the download is completed.

Also, the download details labels should be right-aligned as they are not
'similar in length.' And 'Status:' makes me expect something like
'Downloading' or 'Complete' in the following column, maybe 'Received:'
would be a better choice of words?

Erm.. I didn't even realize the location and file were selectable
(right-click + select all), they sure don't look that way. They look very
similar to the status or time labels, which *can't* be right-clicked.

I agree.
We could put back the small progress bar in the list and hide it when
done or something.

Should check the HIG ...

Uhm I'm unsure where Status is :) Need to see the dialog to have an
opinion.

I'd blame this on gtk.
Comment 2 Tommi Komulainen 2002-10-25 19:06:24 UTC
Another observation: when the total size of the file isn't known
beforehand, the percentage in the listview remains as 0.0% and time
remaining in details as 00.00, neither of which is of any help.

And after the download of such file is complete, the status is set to
0KB, which is obviously wrong.

Comment 4 Sebastian Kapfer 2003-12-06 16:44:11 UTC
Another complaint: When the download link is broken (Error 404),
Galeon doesn't notify me at all. It just sits there, displaying 0% and
unknown size.
Comment 5 Sebastian Kapfer 2003-12-06 16:47:22 UTC
Oops, it even claims to have downloaded the file: 100% (0 kB)

Sorry for the spam.

Galeon has not seen any code changes since May 2010:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/archive/galeon/log

This project is not under active development anymore and got recently archived in GNOME Git.

It is currently unlikely that there will be any further active development.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone
takes the responsibility for active development again.
