Description Christian Rose 2002-10-21 09:24:14 UTC
#: src/events.c:185 src/personal_info.c:182 src/personal_info.c:183
msgid "N/A"

This message is problematic for translation. In for example Swedish, the
translation for a person being not available is one thing, while the
translation for something else (like data) not being available is something
else.
Comment 1 Göran Uddeborg 2002-10-21 11:09:19 UTC
What is the precise context here? Usually, N/A means "not applicable"
which probaby could be translated in a single way to to Swedish. What
sense of "available" is meant here? Would "tillgänglig" possibly be a
translation which could apply to both IP addresses and persons?
Comment 2 Christian Rose 2002-10-21 11:54:58 UTC
You probably *could* say so about a person, but "inte anträffbar" is
probably more widely used.
Comment 3 Olivier Crête 2002-11-26 23:10:08 UTC
Is this still needed? Any suggestion?
Comment 4 Christian Rose 2002-11-26 23:47:18 UTC
Yeah, still needed. I suggest the personal connection status "N/A" be
changed to "Not Available".
Comment 5 Vincent Untz 2003-01-06 19:53:19 UTC
This should have been reopened.
Comment 6 Vincent Untz 2003-01-14 01:34:38 UTC
Olivier/Patrick: are you ok to replace "N/A" (the status) with "Not
available" and leave "N/A" for informations that are not available ?

If this is ok for you, then I'll do the work.
Comment 7 Olivier Crête 2003-01-14 02:18:55 UTC
As long as it does not break the UI its ok with me..
Comment 8 Patrick Sung 2003-01-14 19:22:39 UTC
go ahead ;)
Comment 9 Vincent Untz 2003-01-14 20:54:19 UTC
This should be fixed in CVS.
