A (%) percent sign in filenames will also cause a segfault or error message.  I don't know if this is the exact same issue or only related.

Found this after trying to view files off the web that had urlencoding garbage in the names like porn%20file%20name.jpg. :)

Should be fixed on HEAD for 2.4.
