oki i closed 3 bugs in favor to this bugreport. gnome-terminal should use GnomeApp instead GtkWindow to support deatachable menues, toolbar, icons etc.

(Just in case anyone was going to patch this, please don't use GnomeApp, I want to go straight to trying out the libegg new menu stuff for 2.2. You could make the current code honor the detachable-menus gconf key if you wanted.)
Does it make sense to close this ? Since I now understand the situation between GnomeAPP and the LibEGG stuff better it makes no sense to have this one remaining open.
Please close this report. I can't fo it anymore because my email address changed and therefore I lost ownership of this bug.

re-opening and re-titling since Ali closed a number of feature requests as dups of this and some actually have merit. The original report just was too grounded in the technology at the time.

This should be all fixed with the gtkuimanager port, except for tear-off menus which are unsupported. Closing.
