GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 88027
%g and %G broken in 0.12.90
Last modified: 2006-06-18 04:55:41 UTC
Hi, I know 0.12.9 is a beta release, but I figured you'd want to know about this bug, unless, of course, you already do. I'm running RedHat 7.3 on two different pcs. Installed the newest pan (0.12.90) plus all the necessary newer rpms and gtkspell libs, etc. No errors or anything unusual in the install. Now, when doing a Shift-S to save an attachment, it will not save the attachment to the correct directory. In my case, I have my default save directory set to /home/quimby/%g ... however, instead of saving to , e.g. /home/quimby/alt.binaries.humor.skewed , it creates a directory actually called %g and saves it to that. so the attachment saves to /home/quimby/%g . I tried changing the save directory to /home/quimby/%G and it still saves the attachment to /home/quimby/%g (small g)... Did an rpm -e pan and then installed the latest stable version (0.12.1) and everything is then back to normal.... This behavior was the same on both RedHat pcs. I have not tried it on any other linux distros or any other pcs. It looks like this is the default behavior, I didn't have to do anything special to get this to happen... Thought you'd want to know, awesome product by the way, PAN is the best.
Fixed in CVS; what name do you want listed in the CREDITS? cheers, Charles http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&subdir=pan/pan&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&file=save-ui.c&rev1=1.18&rev2=1.19&root=/cvs/gnome
Rob B. will be fine...thanks for looking into this so quickly! looking forward to trying out the CVS...
