Description Kevin Godby 2002-07-07 01:44:00 UTC
I would like a report or function added to GnuCash to calculate balance
projections into the future. This feature is dependent upon the RFE of
recurring transactions.

I would like to be able to tell GnuCash about recurring transactions. For
example, my monthly phone bill, pay check, and car payment. GnuCash could
use this information to calculate the balance of my accounts (my primary
interest is Current Assets) at, for example, 3 months into the future. The
balance could be graphed (as a line chart or bar chart) and presented as a
report.

Also, I would like the capability of applying arbitrary recurring income
and expenses to this report to use in what-if analyses.

Currently, MS Money has a comparable feature. Please feel free to contact
me if you'd like a more detailed explanation.

This seems to be "essential" functionality for 1.8, as per /.
comments... Priority to High.

Prio to normal. I think the existing SX stuff covers this 80%, though
it would be nice to have the full capability described above.

(My how things change over time...) New feature != bug. See budgeting stuff in 2.0, however.
