GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 84105
Internet time is no more global than UTC etc.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
In the messages of gnome-panel, there is a message Display Internet time, which is same all over the world It is true, of course, but somewhat misleading. But UTC is also the same all over the world. And so is CET for that matter. Only the concept "local time" differs.
Is this better (it's long but it's a gconf long description) ? If true, display internet time. The internet time system divides the day into 1000 ".beats". There is no time zones in this system, so time is the same all over the world. I can do a patch, if wanted :-)
I would say its better. Not only more correct, but it also explains this is a quite special kind of time scale. I encourage the change.
Mark/Arvind: is the new description ok ? Can it be committed ?
